See you at AWP and in Los Angeles!

More than 12,000 attendees and 2,000 presenters are scheduled to descend upon downtown Los Angeles for the Association of Writers & Writing Programs annual gathering, the behemoth of all writing conferences.  The conference will take place Wednesday March 30-Saturday April 2. I’m looking forward to sitting on a panel and taking part in an offsite reading with my Willow Books and VONA/Voices brethren and sistren. Representation and inclusion of writers of color, writers with disabilities, LGBTQ+ and women writers have been much blogged about and at the center of ongoing controversies like this one and this one.

I’m looking forward to contributing to these necessary discussions, now in person and off the internet and social media (though #AWP2016 will undoubtedly be a hashtag to watch).

If you’re at the conference, please come to one of the following events and say hello. I’ll have copies of The Four Words for Home for signing and sale. The Saturday night offsite reading is open to the public. The AWP Bookfair is open to the public on Saturday with the onsite purchase of a $45 pass.

See you there!
